Project Overview: Transforming An old work shop building into Hotnumbers Coffee Roastery

Client: Hotnumbers Coffee

Location: Shepreth, Cambridge.

Project Duration: 1 Year

Scope: Conversion of an old lawn mower workshop into a modern, inviting coffee roastery.

Concept and Design:

Our journey began with the vision to transform the historic one of the Wright's Lawn Mower Center building, a once bustling workshop, into a ​contemporary coffee haven - Hotnumbers Coffee Roastery. Our goal was to create a space that not only serves exceptional coffee but also ​becomes a local landmark where community and culture brew together.

Challenges and Solutions:

Retaining Character: One of the primary challenges was retaining the building's original charm while infusing modern elements. We ​preserved key architectural features, such as the exposed beams and brickwork, which now add a rustic feel to the space.

Space Utilization: The workshop had few internal walls we’ve opened up the layout which offered a blank canvas. We created distinct areas - a ​few seating zones, a functional barista station, and a visible roasting area & the bakery/kitchen - ensuring operational efficiency while ​enhancing customer experience. We’ve opened up the upstairs floor area to bring that double height wow factor.

Lighting and Ambiance:

To overcome the industrial feel, we have opened up the walls to have beautiful views of country sides and integrated warm lighting and chose ​a colour palette that complements the industrial feel, natural brick and wood. Lots of plants added in suitable areas & Artworks from local ​artists adorn the walls, fostering a connection with the community

Execution:

Sustainable Practices: In line with our commitment to sustainability, we used recycled materials and energy-efficient appliances. The furniture ​was locally sourced & pre-owned for reducing our carbon footprint.

Community Focus: Recognising the importance of community, we designed the space to be flexible, accommodating local events and ​gatherings, making Hotnumbers a community hub.

Final Touches: The final design harmonizes the old and the new, with modern amenities nestled within a historical framework. The space now ​buzzes with life, from the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans to the chatter of the community.

Outcome:

The transformation of Wright's Lawn Mower Center into Hotnumbers Coffee Roastery has been a resounding success. It stands as a ​testament to our ability to repurpose and rejuvenate spaces, creating an environment where history and modernity coexist beautifully. The ​project has not only elevated the client’s brand but has also become a beloved spot in the community.

Newnham Home Project

Project Overview: After almost an year on the market without success, we consulted with the owner of this former rental property to suggest ​improvements that could enhance its market appeal before re-listing on the market. Which included a bit of work on the front garden, back ​garden, bathroom and light redecoration and completely full staging the property was all it took. All the work carried on by H2H and the ​team. Once we revamped and staged all the areas, the property was primed for relaunch. Our staging service would be helping prospective ​buyers visualise themselves living in the space. This enabled our client to provide great marketing images for sale of this property.
